Remedy Entertainment has concluded its Control Resonant development diary series with “Meet the Cast,” a video that takes a closer look at the sequel’s characters and the evolving relationship between Jesse and Dylan Faden. While Dylan will become the game’s sole playable protagonist, Jesse Faden will continue to play a crucial role in the story.

Dylan Faden Takes the Spotlight

Unlike the original Control, which placed players in control of Jesse Faden, Control Resonant will tell its story primarily through Dylan’s perspective. Actor Sean Durrie, who reprises his role as Dylan, explains that becoming the playable protagonist allows players to experience the Control universe from an entirely different point of view.

Dylan’s transition to protagonist also comes with major gameplay changes. His supernatural abilities will be paired with the Aberrant, a shapeshifting weapon designed for close-quarters combat. This should give the sequel a distinct combat identity while retaining the supernatural elements that made the original Control stand out.

Jesse Faden Still Has a Major Role

Despite no longer being controlled by players, Jesse is far from absent. Courtney Hope, who returns as Jesse, highlights the complicated relationship between the Faden siblings. Jesse and Dylan share a powerful bond, but their relationship has also been shaped by conflict and tension.

That dynamic could become one of the most important elements of Control Resonant. By shifting control from Jesse to Dylan, Remedy has an opportunity to explore their relationship from the opposite perspective while expanding the story of both characters.

The connection between Hope, Durrie, and Remedy Entertainment also runs deep. The two actors have collaborated with the studio for more than a decade, allowing them to revisit Jesse and Dylan with a deeper understanding of their personalities. However, the development diary makes it clear that the sequel is not simply repeating the characters’ previous journeys. Instead, both are being taken in new directions.

A New Chapter for the Control Universe

The “Meet the Cast” feature also showcases supporting performers, including Antonia Bernath, Frankie Kevich, and Matthew Porretta. Their involvement provides additional insight into the expanded cast and the performance work behind the sequel.

Control Resonant will take players to Manhattan, which has been transformed by a mysterious paranatural crisis. Dylan’s supernatural powers and the versatile Aberrant weapon will play an important role in navigating this new setting and its threats.

The sequel is being developed and published by Remedy Entertainment, with Annapurna Pictures serving as co-financier and co-producer. Control Resonant is scheduled to release worldwide on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Mac version planned for later in 2026.

With Dylan taking control of the gameplay while Jesse remains deeply connected to the narrative, Control Resonant looks set to deliver a fresh perspective without abandoning the characters and relationships that helped define the original game.
